Twins lock up 4, including Plouffe

Minneapolis, MN ( – The Minnesota Twins agreed to terms with
four arbitration-eligible players on Friday, including third baseman Trevor

They also reached deals with pitchers Casey Fien and Tommy Milone and
infielder Eduardo Nunez.

Plouffe will earn $4.8 million in 2015, up from the $2.35 million he made in
2014 after avoiding arbitration with the Twins last January. He batted .258
with 14 homers, 80 RBI and a .328 on-base percentage over 136 games in his
fifth major league season, which have all come with the Twins.

Fien will earn $1.375 million. The right-hander had a 3.98 ERA in 73 games out
of the bullpen last season, posting a record of 5-6 with 51 strikeouts in 63
1/3 innings.

Milone, who was acquired from Oakland at the trade deadline in exchange for
outfielder Sam Fuld, will make $2.775 million. He went 6-4 with a 4.19 ERA in
22 games last season, including 21 starts. He was 0-1 with a 7.06 ERA in six
games for the Twins.

Nunez batted .250 with a .271 on-base percentage in 72 games last season, his
first with the Twins after being traded by the New York Yankees in April. He
will earn $1.025 million.
