Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland left
Friday’s start against the Houston Astros with tightness in his left shoulder.
Holland departed his first start of the season after the first inning and was
replaced by Anthony Bass.
Holland had given up a single to Jose Altuve to start the game, but picked him
off second later in the inning. Jed Lowrie then hit a solo homer just over the
wall in left.
The 28-year-old lefty missed a large chunk of last season after tearing
cartilage in his left knee that required surgery prior to the start of the
season.
