Teixeira was named the American League Player of the Week for the period
ending April 26.
Teixeira batted .333 (8-for-24) with five home runs, 10 RBI and six runs
scored over seven games to capture his sixth career POW award.
The switch-hitting first baseman led all Major League hitters in homers and
slugging percentage (1.000) during the week, and was first among AL batters in
RBI, tied for first in total bases (24) and tied for second in runs scored.
