Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) – The Colorado Rockies placed right-
handed pitcher Adam Ottavino on the 15-day disabled list Monday due to right
triceps inflammation.
The 29-year-old veteran has been one of the league’s best relievers in April,
striking out 13 batters and only allowing three hits and two walks in 10 1/3
scoreless innings. Ottavino recorded three saves after replacing LaTroy
Hawkins in the closer’s role.
To take Ottavino’s place on the active roster, Colorado called up right-handed
pitcher Jorge Rondon from Triple-A Albuquerque. In 6 2/3 innings for the
Isotopes, he allowed one run.
The Rockies also activated right-handed pitcher David Hale from the 15-day DL
and optioned him to Albuquerque.
