Rangers shut the door on Athletics

Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Prince Fielder went 2-of-3 and drove in two
runs, and Neftali Feliz shut the door in the bottom of the ninth inning as the
Texas Rangers picked up their first victory of the season with a 3-1 road
conquest over the Oakland Athletics.

Colby Lewis (1-0) got the start for Texas and pitched six innings, giving up
three hits and a run with four strikeouts.

Eric Sogard recorded the only RBI of the game for Oakland, which dominated
Texas Monday in the season opener to the tune of an 8-0 blanking.

Jesse Hahn (0-1) got his first start in an Athletics uniform after coming over
from San Diego in the offseason in a trade. Hahn was tagged with the loss
after lasting six innings, giving up seven hits with three runs and three
strikeouts.

The Rangers limited the A’s to five hits in the contest. Each team was charged
with one error as well.
