Rangers’ Profar to undergo shoulder surgery

(SportsNetwork.com) – Texas Rangers infielder Jurickson Profar is expected to
undergo right shoulder surgery after a year-long battle with an injury.

Profar missed the entire 2014 season after he was diagnosed with a torn muscle
in his right shoulder.

According to the Dallas Morning News and MLB.com, Profar will undergo surgery
on Monday in Arlington to fix a partially torn labrum, an injury that he has
dealt with since 2010.

The 22-year-old from Curacao put off surgery in September to see if the injury
would heal. It did not and there is now a possibility that he will miss his
second straight season.

Profar batted .234 with six homers and 26 RBI in 85 games with Texas in 2013
after making his debut with the team in 2012. In 2013, Profar started 29 games
at second base, 16 at shortstop, 10 at third base and four in left field.
