Pegging the Profit for 8/30

Small items are often the hinge in which our profit swings on. Even as we are about to enter September, the established mathematics and models are not accurate enough to counter what we can observe as human beings.  This is our experience and how we can translate our superior knowledge into profit.  So here are some of the finer points we should tackle right away on this Sunday, August 30th.

Banking on Arrieta

Cubs nation should be griping in the face of a four game losing streak if not for Arrieta coming to the rescue today.  His almost 0.50 ERA over his last five starts is bolstered by allowing just a .160 batting average.  With two earned runs in his last thirty three innings, he has the definite advantage of the Dodger’s Alex Wood who was obtained via the Braves.

Giants are Lacking the Final Kick

Matt Cain’s projected start would have put SF in a good spot had he not been placed on the DL. Now they get to face the Cardinals with Chris Heston.  St. Louis has a larger advantage than the -135 price as a road favorite today. Jamie Garcia has proven that he has been healthy over the course of the last month putting up stellar numbers.  Examine for this yourself but the St. Louis Cardinals should be a component of your parlays today.

Take a Run on this Rookie

Few things rally a team essentially eliminated from the playoffs at this stage.  One of them is about to occur in Philadelphia.  Prospects coming up for their first start gets the gas going for the team.  For one day, they can feel the hope that only their paychecks are providing them.  The Phils have Alec Asher going for them as a result of the Hammels trade.  His recent minor league results have been dominant.  This might not be able to translate to long term MLB success but against the almost equally disinterested Padres, this should be enough.  The home price of +130 is a great value for the Phillies today in this situation.

Just like that, we have an action packed card for you today.  Who would have ever thought the Phillies would be a strong play and at an underdog price?  The Giants are in a bad spot today.  Finally, the Cubs avoid the sweep today.  Tail these and we should have a profitable day to rally around for the September push.
