Orioles shut Wieters down due to tendinitis

Sarasota, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – Baltimore Orioles catcher Matt Wieters has
been shut down for a week due to tendinitis in his right elbow.

Wieters, 28, underwent Tommy John surgery in the same elbow last June and
missed the remainder of the 2014 season, his sixth with the Orioles.

The three-time All-Star batted .308 with five home runs and 18 RBI in 26 games
before hitting the disabled list last season.

Baltimore opens its season in Tampa Bay on April 6.
