Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) – The Toronto Blue Jays have named Brook
Jacoby as the team’s new hitting coach.
Jacoby, an 11-year major league player, spent last season as a minor league
assistant hitting coordinator in the Texas Rangers’ organization after a
seven-year run as the hitting coach for the Cincinnati Reds.
The 54-year-old Philadelphia native was a career .270 hitter in 1,311 big
league games for Atlanta, Cleveland and Oakland from 1981-92. He spent all but
71 games of his career with the Indians and was an All-Star with the Tribe in
1986 and 1990.
