Carp Losing Value

A team that hails from Hiroshima that goes by the name of the carp find themselves with a big decision upcoming.  Star pitcher Kenta Maeda has told the team he wants to leave the land of the rising sun and come to the US to play ball.  The 27 year old was stellar in the Premier 12 tournamen in which Japan got the Bronze.  With season stats like a 2.09 ERA and a record of 15-8, one could understand the hesitation from the team.  However there is a clause in his contract that allows the franchise to demand a $20  million dollar transfer or buyout clause from the team wanting to sign him.  The rich will be blessed in the US if MLB teams are allowed to pursue him.

David Price to Japan

A slow news week was spiced up by David Price saying he was going to Japan to play.  He quickly tweeted that this was a joke but it has to be some level of frustration that the deed is not yet done.  Runner up in the CY Young for the AL has four teams in really heavy pursuit of him. Toronto is thought to be leading the chase.  However big money teams like the Dodgers, Cubs, and Red Sox are sure to amp up the bidding war.  A proven producer will be a whole lot richer in the next few months.
