Glendale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) – Los Angeles Dodgers starter Hyun-Jin Ryu is
expected to start the 2015 season on the disabled list when he experienced
more shoulder soreness on Sunday.
The Dodgers sent the lefty back to Los Angeles to be examined by Dr. Neal
ElAttrache, four days after receiving a cortisone injection intended to
alleviate his discomfort.
Ryu first reported the soreness after last Tuesday’s Cactus League start. He
made just two spring training starts totaling five innings after dealing with
back soreness at the start of camp.
Early last season, Ryu experienced shoulder inflammation and had to go on the
disabled list, and he pitched through fatigue in September.
In two seasons with the Dodgers, the 27-year-old Ryu owns a 28-15 record with
a 3.17 ERA in 344 innings.
