Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) – The Chicago Cubs traded outfielder Justin
Ruggiano to the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday.
The Cubs received pitching prospect Matt Brazis in return for the 32-year-old
Ruggiano, who batted .281 with six home runs and 28 RBI in 81 games for
Chicago this past season.
Ruggiano is a career .257 hitter with 43 homers and 137 RBI in 398 games with
the Tampa Bay Rays, Miami Marlins and Cubs.
Brazis is 25-year-old right-hander who split last season between Single-A and
Double-A. He posted a 4-1 record with a 2.36 ERA in 40 appearances.
