Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) – The Milwaukee Brewers exercised the 2016
option on manager Ron Roenicke Thursday.
The move comes just a few months after the club confirmed they were sticking
with their skipper for 2015 after his job status came into question following
a late-season collapse cost the Brewers a playoff spot last season.
The Brewers were 51-32 and led the National League Central by 6 1/2 games on
June 28, but wound up finishing third in the division and six games back in
the wild card race at 82-80.
Roenicke, 58, has compiled a 335-313 record during his four seasons at the
helm. In his first year in 2011, he led the Brewers to a franchise-record 96
wins and a division title.
