Brewers’ Lucroy to miss most of spring training

Milwaukee, WI ( – Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy
will be sidelined for most of spring training because of a right hamstring

The Brewers did not disclose how Lucroy was hurt, but said the “mild” strain
will keep the All-Star out for about 4-to-6 weeks. He will likely be ready for
the start of the regular season on April 6.

Lucroy played a career-high 153 games last year and batted .301 with 13 home
runs and 69 runs batted in. He set a record for doubles by a catcher with 53,
was an All-Star for the first time and finished fourth in the MVP balloting.

The 28-year-old veteran is a career .285 hitter with 59 homers and 204 RBI in
607 games over five seasons, all with Milwaukee.

Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to Brewers spring training in
Arizona on Feb. 20.
