Astros sign Roberto Hernandez

Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – The Houston Astros have signed veteran
pitcher Roberto Hernandez to a minor league contract that includes an
invitation to the team’s spring training camp.

Hernandez went a combined 8-11 with a 4.10 earned run average over 32 games
(29 starts) with Philadelphia and the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2014. The right-
hander was traded from the Phillies to the Dodgers in early August, but was
not included on the club’s postseason roster.

A 19-game winner with the Cleveland Indians in 2007, Hernandez owns a career
67-93 record with a 4.60 ERA over 248 games (206 starts) with the Indians,
Tampa Bay Rays, Phillies and Dodgers.

Hernandez was selected to the American League All-Star team while with the
Indians in 2010.
