Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – Houston Astros pitcher Brad Peacock landed
back on the 15-day disabled list Friday after making just one start in his
return from offseason hip surgery.
Peacock was activated to start Tuesday against Oakland and threw five innings
in his season debut, taking the loss in a 4-0 setback to the Athletics after
surrendering three runs. The right-hander sustained a strained left
intercostal strain during the outing, according to the team.
Asher Wojciechowski was recalled from Triple-A Fresno to take Peacock’s place
in the rotation.
Wojciechowski started Houston’s 5-1 loss to Cleveland on April 9 and received
the loss in his major league debut, allowing four runs on eight hits over four
innings. The rookie righty rebounded to toss four scoreless frames in relief
on Monday, then was sent down to Triple A to make room for Peacock.
