Angels, Freese avoid arbitration

Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and
infielder David Freese avoided arbitration, agreeing to terms on a one-year
contract Wednesday.

No financial terms were provided by the team, but multiple sources indicate
that $6.425 million was the agreed-upon figure.

Freese batted .260 and posted 10 home runs, 25 doubles and 55 RBI over 134
games with the Halos last season.

A World Series winner with the Cardinals in 2011, the 31-year-old right-handed
hitter and Texas native is a lifetime .280 hitter who has collected 54 homers,
106 doubles and drove in 292 runs over 600 games in six MLB seasons.
